Lower face and Neck Lift

Lower face and neck lift

Overview

Ageing of the lower third of the face and neck are often the most apparent sign of ageing. These changes may include the development of deep lines in the cheeks and around the mouth; loose, excess skin in the cheeks, jaw line and neck; and banding around the neck.

Procedure

Unfortunately non-surgical treatments are not very effective for these problems. A combination of skin resurfacing, filler and Botox can improve this area.

Surgery usually involves an incision made around the ear and under the chin. The deeper layers in the face are then re-tightened before removing some of the excess skin. Liposuction is usually performed in the neck area and some fat grafting to the midface area.

Anaesthetic

Surgery is usually done in our procedure room under conscious sedation.

Recovery

80% recovery within 10-14 days.

Risks

Mainly bruising and swelling. Nerve damage is a possibility although this is rare.
